I definately kept Jaheira, I'm only in chapter 2, and with the full plate+1, med Shield+2, helm+2, ring+1, I allready have her at an awesome -7 AC. Her profinciencies with Scimitar and Slings, of which I have both in +2, and using bullets+2 she almost never misses. With AC -7, she almost never gets hit, and it will just get better as I get better equipment and level ups. And as was mentioned, her excellent spell ability.
I also really enjoy the romance aspect with her. Since we all got used to her constant nagging, griping etcetera, etcetera in BG, it is alot of fun to see her character gradually change into someone caring, sensitive, and affectionate.
