For a long time I wonder what exactly is the attack skill. I browsed different forums, but to no avail. Could it be regarded like the THACO (throw on armour class nil) in the dungeons&dragons series, a value for the probability to successfully hit an opponent with armour class zero and causing damage to him?
What confuses me: the same attributes/skills often contribute to the "to hit" skill. What could this be? An even more increased chance to hit an opponent? But why the double contribution of e.g. the attribute strength to "attack" and to "to hit"? This seems not logical to me.
I would be grateful for an explanation.
