hahaha, this took me for ever to work out... after consulting a playguide, I was convinced that I had reached a critical game bug when it stated "after talking to to Z'ant, go back up the lift, and the dummy should be hanging there"
Long story short, after a good 25 mins of going back between Z'ant, the squish-room, the front of the fort and many reloads, I finally noticed that lever with a curious rapax-shaped figure on it. Serves me right for consulting a play guide I guess :S
