The graphics in Wiz 7 Gold or DOS are sufficient to get the idea across. W7 is much more frustrating tham W8 in that you have to reload much more (but this is quick on today's computers!). I don't depend on graphics so much. Yeh, I appreciate them but want game play. More and better game play. I still like old games with limited graphics if the challenge is there, the true RPG element. D.W. Bradley (who wrote W5-7 and W&W) has a new game coming out this year: "Dungeon Lords". The pre-reviews are good so far but it is an "action RPG". You won't see the stats and leveling. Damn, that's most of the fun! And I don't need the real time elemnet, Wiz and War bothered me. But I guess each person has their own style and criteria for a good game. I like turn-based nd parties, the main reasons I am still into this game and Wiz 6/7.
