Sorry, I only keep 2 save games and I saved over both of them in the Swamp.

What also got me was the sheer number! Each party was 6 to 10 instead of the usual 3 or 4 so there where about 40-50 within a short space, all wanting to run us over. Was lucky not to get bumped over a rail (I took some effort to avoid this). I guess they combined in packs of 2 groups. I'll keep a save if anything this weird happens again. (Agreed: This would have been a good time to use the Accelerator if I had it)
