The only NPC I keep now is the android (RFS). Not always. I an schizoid about it. He is a joy to have compared to the others and you get maybe 80K for getting him. Vi was fun at first and teaches about Valk skills. The others are good for novelty, but don't travel well. I don't go for the "XP drains" reason to drop them, they just don't go far enough. I would keep the Trinnies or Sax if I could count on them. But I think the plot makes keeping them a liabilty, aiming for the next stage. Maybe next evolution of the game they can have more impact and stay with the party.
