How important is Intelligence to the hybrids?

I'm beginning to realise that I'm putting too much emphasis on Intelligence to the detriment of other skills. I've started a party with a Bishop and am leaving Intelligence for the hybrids as it is. Am I doing wrong? Should I be emphasising Intelligence?
