At rapax rift, to get to the castle you pretty much have to kill all the rapax you come across if you don't want to spend all your time in combat running away
(very difficult in narrow corridors anyway
). After you become a templar they will be friendly so if you go back to rapax rift (or outside in the mountain wilderness) any rapax you come across will be friendly.
