Wow, this is so great. You should stick this in the hints thread if you haven't already done so.
It seems that cloud spells and ring of fire work, too, if you have the patience.
I'm not sure it works with the Mook, though, although it probably doesn't matter.
Man, Umpani Commanders are hard to kill.
