Marmot, I have the converse experience. I have a party with 2 pretty similar faerie bishops, and it's alwazy the one with the brilliant helm (gives INT+20) thats learning faster. The effect shows up only after some time, but its definitely noticable (my party is around level 30, so I need to train really much to get just 1 point of skill through training).
