Three spells at Powerlevel 1 train about as good as one on PL7 (rough number after a couple of tests).
Edit: concerning Learning, I noticed in my last party that my mage learned mythology quicker than my Gadgeteer, even though senses are primary for that skill. I don't understand it, unless learning is indeed first of all checked against int (maybe only academic skills?).
