Yeh, you can take that 430 HP golem at the MW waterfall at lev 11/12, we just did it (Monk, Samurai, Bard and Priest). Barely broke a sweat. Have Missile Screen, Armor Plate, Bless, Enchanted Blade up and reasonably good armor (AC 14-18 w/AP). Also added Haste. Wouldn't try it at less than L10, though some have succeeded at L8 or 9. The party arrived from Bela's where the Priest picked up the Cloak of Many Colors (+3 AC, magic prots) and the Bard got the Ring of the Road (+1 AC and +20 Str). The Sam is using Bloodlust and gets Lightning Strike once or twice in longer battles (6x attack for a swing turn).

In the harder battles early on I try to keep the critters separated, tho. Trying that behemoth and 5 flying snakes at the same time does not work too well! Got snuffed first atempt and retried by engaging the snakes before golem was in range.

Edit: changed Magic Missile to Missile Screen, this is not meant to be a missal on missiles! And added some details.
