Yeah, Rodan tells you that. Silly me, I listened to him the first time and had a heck of a time! Next game, I just popped out and everything was fine, so after that, I didn't bother with the king. Could be that was Yet Another Unfinished Subplot of the game.
It doesn't matter much whether you see Z'ant or Yamir first, unless the T'rang have caught on to your double-agent business. Then you do have to go to the Umpani first.
