Nessie is possibly the most difficult individual monster you'll come up against. It's aggravated by the fact that most of your fire spells (haste, etc.) will not work under water. I've read from other posts that people have defeated her with level 13-14 characters...but I've never done it with a group under level 16. Ordinary weapons don't seem to have much effect on her. Would suggest that you have weapons on the caliber of Fang, Bloodlust, and the Doom Staff. It would also help to have Medussa stones, Mystic arrows or Lightnig Bolts. Have as many defensive spells up before you drop down to meet her ( Armorplate, Magic Screen, etc.) and at least one character who can throw heal all. It seems to pay to have several canned elementals, or people who can throw it. Surprise her, and throw Soul Shield and your elementals up first. Most spells (other than Armormelt and hex) won't work. Close, and hack away. It's a tough fight. Good luck!
