Thanks, Wereboar. I had passed that room many times, next to where you find the prince. Missed the safe in the wall. I don't have pickpocket ability so I killed the drunken Constable to get his key. The items you mention were there (with an amulet of rainbows). The Assassin Cap is handy (+20 crit hit). I replaced the Staff of Doom for the other Monk (RFS, I don't need him but I like him around) with the Zatoichi Staff. Being "not cursed", it gives me ranged weapons usage although I lose some instant kill chances (RFS weapons went from 15% to 5%). This party has enough IKs so it is a weapon worth getting (has more damage and initiative).
