If you find the Maenad's Lance, you may not want it: it's damage will be about the same as a Dread Spear, and it's Initiative is *minus 6* compared to the Dread Spear! The Raven's Bill and Faust Halberd have similarly poor Initiative, though they give you a kill % and other effects (and their cursed, HP-draining effects, of course).

Overall, the Dread Spear is pretty much the best Polearm in the game; two of my Rangerettes are using them and doing fine.
