No, you just have the highest possible resistance.
In my experience, the level difference is calculated in, with say 5% per level, S o if you fight monsters 4 levels above yours, you effective resistance is 80%.
In addition, sometimes they can get through your resistance. The higher your resistance, the rarer, but i don't think you're save at any point.
In addition, there are things like gaze or rear attacks. It seems to me that the corresponding resistance helps, but less than against spells. Thats when mind control (or however the skill you gain at 100 piety) helps a lot.
And i think some monsters might even have powercast. The death knights seem to be much more effective than other monsters, even if i'm high levels.
And then a look in the other direction: I once killed a group of Rapax Warlocks, 4 levels above mine, with spells only, and without using water spells. Their resistance was 115% in all other realms (higher for fire)
