The idol is in one of the two gaurd towers in the Bluff. They are a little hard to see, are on either side of a big door that leads to front entrance to Bluff. On the way there, you should pull a big switch on a wall to open access to this area (big door) after going through the mine tunnels so you don't have to do that again. A member of your party wiill disappear when you grab the idol, you will find him/her at the Swamp store (after a quest, in a way). The idol is used in Bough 6 on a stump near a door, place it there. The key is used in the first room on right in Rattkin tree, after going around little passage there. Note the slab on the floor. You may need to click it twice to find way to Serenity.
