I'm liking it quite a bit - different perspective than Wizardry (not first person, it's more an overview where you see all of your characters).
Since Wiz 8 I've played Neverwinter Nights and IWD II. IWD II I think is better if you are into party development; NWN has much prettier eye-candy, but the single player game isn't so great. I've heard multiplayer is good with NWN though, so if you're into that it would be very good.
The party creation and development is just as addictive, if not more so that Wizardry. There are less fights (except for a few exceptions, when you kill things in an area, they stay dead and no new ones spawn). The biggest advantage over Wiz 8 is that there are more mini quests, NPCs, and more exp for roleplaying - and less tedious combat. It's also harder to "cheat" - no training methods for example, if you want more power, you have to gain exp and go up levels.
Plus it has made me a fan of the 3rd Edition AD+D rules - and psyched because I know they will make more CPRGs with these rules.
