The door can't be opened, but the glass can be broken. You'll have to find a device/machine to break all the glass in the monestary - which BTW allows you to get the Samuri armour as well.
Its all in the upper monestary, just keep opening doors until you find it. Hint: you will need a key to get into the room it is in.
