Wow, Rhea, I think that is so awsome the way you can consolidate that information from various sites. I, too, get very frustrated when thses sites disappear. The only reason I think BG1 is still found in vast quantities on the web is because it it is still viable. There are people now playing it for the first time which means the game is still selling.
Where did you learn to do a HTML editor? Also, have you ever successfully transferred the information to a CD disk? I can just imagine having all this information stored and then something causes your harddrive to crash.

I used to be a computer consultant.
I've been doing this since the second I figured out how to save a web page.
Front Page Express is available for free from Microsoft and it will let you do the basics of editing without having to learn all the fancy stuff (in other words, it's good enough for cut and paste stuff).
I'm running on an old machine at home, so no CD burner. Just that old standard, a ZIP drive. But they make good backups - shoot, my critical stuff at work goes onto zips too.
Oh, this makes me feel old

- I've been saving game stuff back since the dark ages when the first version of the Universal Hint System and text files were all there was. In fact, the directory where I store all my hint stuff is still named \UHS. I just create a new subdirectory for each game.
And I don't save EVERY game's hints - there are some (like :cough: Pool of Radiance) that I hope never to see again. But the hints and tips for the really good RPGS, like the BGs, Planescape, the MMs, Wiz, I keep.
