Next party, you may want to try 2 bishops, each studying 2 spell books. I like the mage/psionic and priest/alchemist combinations, as both can then learn portal and summon elemental, heal all, etc. and both get some very nice high end super damage spells.

Due to the huge amount of spells they will have access to, you'll want to have the alchemest alchemizing from very early on: large amounts of cash are needed, and if you have the fortitude to save at least 3 extra spell picks for when you ge access to level 7 spells. [rememger though: don't let them acquire more than one million gold: counter resets to zero. If need be, buy and hoarde spell books till your gang can use them.]

Once they have both their primary books up to the 75 level [at which time you can't add more skill points, they have to be earned] you can start adding points to their third and even fourth books.

Bishops end up with much higher mana than other casters, and when both can do things like heal all and the basic buffs, it makes the party much more versatile.

Just a thought, of course: I finished the game with [almost] the first party I created, and was very emotionally attached to them. Honestly though, my current gang of 4 could totally kick the @$$ of that old party: have learned a lot from this group about the art and science of party building.
