Actually, i'd make the Faerie a Bishop-Ninja, but rather than changing once late in the game, you can spend your first level as a ninja to develop stealth especially, but also other fighting skills. (Wiz-8 gives skill advances indepentently of level-up points, so you can actually let the chars practise some skills up to max in just one level). Then you can play Bishop to develop magic for 5 levels, back to Ninja long enough to get Alchemy as a ninja (4 more) then switch back and forth at will; the magic you cast as a Ninja helps build skills, and your fighting will also improve in either class if you use the Cane as Ninja and whatever other sticks you find as a Bishop. (Unlike W-7, changing class removes any cursed item your new class can't use)
And, there's nothing wrong with 2 or more Bishops, you can buy almost all L1-5 spells as books from merchants scattered about the game. I've even run a party of 4 Bishops that changed between that and Ranger, Monk, Ninja and Sam at various stages.
