general tips...
1) DONT level up just because you can. Monsters get more difficult based on your level. Stay at a lower level for awhile, then level all your characters at the same time. You shouldn't be more than level 5 when you hit Arnika.
2) for your spellcasters, Just do Bishops... you can advance just as much with them as with Mages because for most of the early game you're going to be saving level-ups.
3) don't choose a new spell when you level up. Save them because you'll get plenty of spellbooks for low level spells.
I'm not sure why your fighter is doing badly, do you have a high strength? If you're a lizardman fighter, you can have 100 Vit and 100 strength by 8th or 9th level. Close Combat and Dual Wield are skills to work on.
Don't worry about training your ninja in throwing. When you use the Cane of Corpus, you can't switch... it's cursed, so just work on the wand & staff.
Rangers do great with Doubleshot and Tripleshot crossbows... you need a gadgeteer to make those (you can hire one in Trynton, but I LOVE gadgeteers in a party... next set of characters, dump a bishop and use a gadgeteer instead). Rangers are probably my favorite class of the game next to gadgeteers.
Walk/Run, use that at the beginning of combat to bring enemies closer before you act. The difference? Run lets you go farther, but you use more stamina when you move. You don't get to run/walk until your slowest party member gets their turn.
