Hmmm....my understanding was that the U.S. version kept the title of the book, and that the U.K. version changed the title from "Sorcerer" to "Philosopher" due to the perceived satanic implications of "Sorcerer."

I could be wrong, as I admit I've neither read the book or viewed the movie, but I DO watch the news, and this was one of many stories in the media hype.
