i've discovered a preference for weapons that have extra effects like KO, Kill, Hex etc. over weapons with more damage or higher rates of fire.
Also for arrows over bolts, in fact, i like some of the stones better than any of the quarrels.
I've noticed, too, that a crit-capable char really gets going when the weapon has any kill on it. (my bunch from W7 all come over with 20 in crit, so even my mages can get one from time to time)
