Don't have the manual right in front of me but it has a section where it explains all the conditions. Drained will stick with you until you use a renewal potion (or drink from Braffit's pool); but there's no time limit to do either, it will never become permanent or incurable, you'll just be drained until you cure it. Disease is different, that one if not cured quickly will decrease your stats permanently.
