In previous Wizardry's, they were used as Ammo for certain weapons (usually guns from Savant Guards). This game they seem to have no function, or whatever they were going to be used on were converted to not needing a power source.

I'd say keep them, put them somewhere with your other stash, you never know what may change in later patches
