The key word in your statement is 'sometimes'. The problem as I see it isn't so much cursing as it is casual cursing. Overuse of anything makes it less than effective on its audience.

I can recall many times when I have been quite irate about something someone wrote or something I had encountered and was able to express my emotions without resorting to foul language. By using restraint in my language I have found it then lends more weight to my words and my anger on the rare occasions when I've been so completely furious that I actually included a single curse word in a post.

Let me add that I have never been so frustrated by a game that I have cursed in a post. While I will admit to using more foul language in verbal discussions than in emails, I have always felt that less is more and try to express myself without resorting to crude language (at least, not in someone's hearing).

It is always possible to get a point or an emotion across without using foul language. And it is something we need to make an effort to do in a family-oriented forum such as this one. Based on the quality of the writing in the vast majority posts I have read here since I joined, that should prove to be no problem for us all.
