Only non essential stuff, i.e., many of the potions (I rarely use them). If I need a restoration or rejuvanation potion, I know that she will have some in stock *and* it will not cost me anything more to buy them back than I got for selling them.

Don't need to close the chest. Leave it in open. You can click on it anyhow to access the items in it, and exit it by hitting the X mark.

I've read that items stay almost anywhere. I like the chests because you can target select exactly what you want to take out. A pile on the floor is a spinning mess
