Sure, [wcip]Angel, you're right. And this is also mimiked (though not 100% consequently, but I like it the way it is...) by the fact that a large part of the development of your party falls into practise that has nothing to do with experience. If you wipe out all monsters with one spell, your party won't end up as capable as one, that has used varying strategies and battled for hours.
