I killed nessie at the lvl of 12.. with a couple of superman potions, it wasn't all that difficult.
About the sword.. I've gotten 3-4 of those, and I've sold every single one.. I don't have a sword-wielding mook, only a spear-mook, so they were useless to me. I didn't find them in chests, I found them on monsters. I don't remember which monsters, though (a lot of help _I_ am)
