Haven't gone far very far in Wiz8 yet, level 10-11, but so far the fighting in Wiz8 is by far much harder than in BG, BG2 and in the exp sets. Joneleth and Mellisian was a walk in the park compared to the first Juggernauts i met. (Maybe because I did all quests in BG1/2/exp. set)
