*SPOILERS* I'm doing that quest right now. I'm pretty sure you have to find the King's Slip and deposit it in the metal tubing that runs up and down in his chambers, past the door that says "King's Treasury'. I used the Queen's slip and it got me her key, so I'm guessing the King's (when I get it) will unlock a door going down or something but I don't know for sure yet.
