One thing NightOwl2 forgot to mention is that you won't actually see the Away Camp as opposed to the Wilderness Clearing unless you are carrying at least 2 of the 3 artifacts (chaos moliri, astral dominae, destinae dominus)... and don't store them anywhere while you are in the Away Camp or the next time you reload you are back in the Clearing with no way to retrieve your lost artifacts. (Can you hear personal experience talking there?)
