Vaprak, you are correct. I'm just uncovering the blackness (aka - shroud of darkness) that covers the map, as I have not explored it all yet, mostly just the southern half as I NEVER stick to premade roads.
Yes I know I should have engaged them up close quicker, but for some reason it turned to combat mode while the heads were about a 1/2 mile away. This game is funny that way... sometimes it won't switch to combat mode until a monster group is nearly on top of you, and other times it puts you in combat before you can barely see em. It would have taken 2 complete "run" rounds for me to get to them, so I decided to see if any spells would work on em.
Also yes, I did get the Rapax BP, some lame rod of winter, a real nice staff/rod of doom, a spellbook of some kind, the enchanted wakazashi, and a potion I think under the waterfall. But even after gathering all the stuff...there is a white dot on my radar. When I look there is nothing on the ground which makes me think it's right above me, on the first of the 2 levels of waterfall as it cascades down... I'm just not sure how to get up there.
