Friendly NPC's can be affected by the same enchantments as your party.

eg. If you cast the "Enchanted Blade" spell in the vicinity of a friendly NPC, you will see a sword icon appear in the top right corner (indicating that the party is affected by the spell) and you will see the same icon appear above the NPC's head (indicating that the NPC is also affected by the spell).
