to be absolutely sure with NO spoilers:

browse to your main game file:

C:\Program Files\Sirtech\Wizardry 8

look for "wiz8.exe" and check the date. it should be 12/24/01, that's how the latest patch updates the main game file.

then browse to your patch file:

C:\Program Files\Sirtech\Wizardry 8\Patches

you should see "patch.001" and it should be dated 12/11/01.

.
if those agree, then you know for sure you have the latest patch, correctly installed.

and see?? not a single spoily!!
