Getting the idol should not have a negative affect on your faction rating.
You hurt your rating by entering the restricted area. I don't know if you can repair the damage at this point. Someone might have some insight on that.
But my thought would be to reload a previous save prior to entering the restricted area and find another way to get the idol. I was able to do it and get to the Trang teleporter without getting busted in a restricted area.
In other words, it can be done without peeing off the trang, now the fix of the faction rating might be possible but I don't know of any ways to do it off hand because if the Trang are aggro to you then Zan't will either attack or just run down his hallway while the others attack you.
