I think your purpose for being there was to toast the dummies with the rocket launcher, but I could be wrong.
The latest patch opens the Covert Ops door, I think...might want to check into that at Wizardry 8

If you have a saved game prior to going in, try it out killing them with the rocket launcher and if the door is still closed, then you know you need the patch. The new patch has a twist in it for pickpocketing though...NPC's are always aware of your success and it becomes limited as to how long or often you can get away with pickpocketing the same NPC over and over again...if anything, you can always visit their tech support board and maybe they can fix it for you without you having to apply that patch.
