Saz,
They are all human. (Well at least they are not all named some form of "Dude" LOL!)

Since I gave Vi a lance, she totally rocks...I only use her for heal spells, etc. as a last resort.

Thanks for your well wishes!

Superchicken,
I have been putting bonus points into DEX/INT but haven't used more than two per level-up in order to maintain strength in other areas, so one does not way-out-do the other...perhaps I'll (*cringe*) use all of them in those two areas on his next level-up and see if it makes a difference, thanks! I'll definitely remember your advice for sword skill!

PCHolt,
I've considered changing him but I am a little weird about "downgrading" a character. OK a lot weird. I'll keep working on him and if he doesn't show some improvement, I'll reconsider his role and maybe threaten him with monkhood if he doesn't shape up.
Actually, my monk rocks too.

I am not too very far into the game, what with school, a major week for tests this week and next, and travel plans for the holiday but hopefully by Monday I'll be able to come back here and give you all some more news.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Azlan,
Don't stress on your Samurai being a bit wimpy in the beginning, he'll pick up the pace and give those monsters "the what for" starting after level 5. I got mine an enchanted katana and he still has the wakazashi...does some impressive damage with his lightning strike ability and his critical strikes are either always a surprise or always a relief!

daiSho,

I kind of miss the old way of having to ascend to more elite roles. I think my next game will start with basic roles and move up from there if not for old times sake, than to be able to know if it makes a difference.
Have you considered creating two parties, one basic and one elite and playing them in two separate games to see how they compare?
That might answer your question faster than I could.
Good Luck & Happy Adventuring!
