DSotSC is an unofficial addon for BG. You can download it at
www.dsotsc.com You have to start a new game after installing it, the new areas won't appear in current games.
Also, I've not had a problem speaking to Minsc with DSotSC installed. Bruce, have you tried the DSotSC forum? If the problem is caused by that, maybe they can help you?
