Well since the start of the whole BG series I have played a thief. I find the thief fits into my playing style. I like the fact I get to sneak around and look at the enemy before the big battle. And getting the chance to lay down a backstab sure can help things out. I find there is a load of exp to be had playing a thief from disarming traps and opening locks. And many of the NPC out there in the game have some goddies on them for the taking.
But the problem with the thief he is not a front line fighter. But make sure he has a good bow and arrow in his hand and he can do some good damage from the back of the pack.
