You'll enjoy the Legends Trilogy - I have very pleasant memories of reading it 10 years ago when I was still in high school. It's very well crafted.
I'm currently reading Terry Goodkind's latest book, Chainfire. Goodkind's starting to stretch his series out a bit, I hope this doesn't turn into a 20-volume epic...
