Also, if you've had him in your party for 10 days and haven't found his friend Dynaheir, he will call you a coward and attack the group. Only other reason I can think of is because you used his berserk ability, which will make him stronger in battle, but he will lash out at anything nearby, including fellow party members. If you have used this ability, make sure that you keep your party members away from him.
