<font color=deepskyblue>I have to agree, <font color=lightgreen>Arnabas</font>. I didn't go see Starsky and Hutch, nor do I plan to - especially when I heard it was just a comedy spoof of the orginal show. I agree that it may not have been high drama, but it definitely made lots of guys want to buy that cool Gran Torino with the "Starsky" paint job. (in fact, my cousin dated a guy that DID have a "Starsky-mobile - only his was silver with a blue stripe).

I admit that - looking back - most of the 70's shows appear terribly "cheesy" now...but this was many years BEFORE the "desktop computer" was a common item. Any that existed back then were strictly CEO desktop material. And TV shows just didn't have the technology or equipment they have today. That still isn't a reason to disrespect them by making comedy movies out of former drama series.

I shudder to think what the remake of CHiPs would look like - since it started off with a bit of a comedy format anyway before switching to full drama.</font>
