With all due respect...your sins perhaps because you believe it, but not mine. I do not believe Jesus was the son of God or the savior, therefore Jesus did not die for the atonement of my sins, not even a little. This is one reason why I would find zero upliftment from a movie that graphically depicts his tortue and execution. Like I already mentioned, I prefer more benign uplifting imagery in my spiritual path. Jesus with a halo is okay, but being tortured and hanging bloody from the cross...no thanks.

Anyway, I don't want to start a religious tussle or anything. I have my perspective, and I recognize and respect that you have yours Cerek.

I will wait for the DVD and watch the movie then. Until then I guess I really have no place or grounds to further comment.
</font>
With all due respect, my faith is that Jesus died for your sins whether you believe it or not, so he certainly did die for your sins, and took each lash and blow in your place.

As for uplifting... it's extremely uplifting. O.k. forget his deity for a minute, his courage, strength, endurance, calmness, the way he gave to those around him, even when he was at his lowest is a compelling example. Praying for his enemies, consoling his grieving mother. He even counsels Pilate, counsels the co-crucified theif. Jesus, was far from benign, even in death.

It is often said something is measured by what it comes up against. His spirit was never broken. You are a pacifist. His response and example are compelling examples. "He who lives by the sword dies by the sword" he says to those that would fight for him. You NEED to see the film Chewbacca.
