Firstly one could understand why Atkinson would feel his depressional state. Its just like being the circus clown all the time ppl are laughing at you not with you. Even thought it is true he is one the greatest actors this time he has brought so much influence on to everyone. I'mean if someone said "Mr Bean" everyone would know who this lovable/funny character is.
And furthermore his acting in Black Adder and other movies are very renowed too. So he will make a great evil guy in the 4th Potter film!
