I'd hold our for something better. Graphics are reaching the "near realistic" level and some top shelf fantasy is being made into movies.(that aren't comedies, or REALLY BAD like in the past) Hopefully we'll see a serious effort at a dragon oriented feature film in the not too distant future.

You missed the whole point of the movie, heh.
When dragons die, they simply stop existing, except for a few dragons who made great sacrifices.
Draco was one of the last dragons, he didn't want to die, and according to the legend, the first dragon ever to go to "heaven" did it by helping human.
So he didn't make himself vulnerable to help a human, he did it to save his soul.
