I was watching Buffy last night, and they were battling a guy/gal called Glory/Ben. She had taken Dawn hostage and was about to sacrifice her so that she (Glory) could return to her own dimension.

To cut a long story short, at the end of the show, Buffy sacrifices herself and jumps off the sacrificial tower. The last scene shows a tombstone marked:
"Buffy Anne Summers
1981 - 2001

Beautiful Sister
Devoted Friend

She saved the world a lot"

So I go, "What the *bleep*??!!" Is this the end of the series? Or will Buffy be somehow miraculously resurrected the next season?

It seems to me that the later seasons have grown a lot darker in tone than the initial ones. I don't watch frequently, but I do try to catch it when I remember it's on.
